Self Baby Baby Weigh Station

The London Health Center SELF Baby Weigh Station is only for patients of our clinic by appointment only, and is located in the Docere/Yoga Room bathroom. We plan to schedule visits >1 hour (usually 2 hours) apart during the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic.  The room will be sanitized with bleach by staff at the beginning and end of the clinic day. When classes begin again in the Docere/Yoga Room, we will not schedule baby weights during class times.

Please take your temperature before leaving home. IF you have any signs of illness, please call the clinic to reschedule. Please arrive promptly, and plan to spend only 15 min in the room. Parents must wear masks to the clinic. Please carry your baby in a cloth carrier (please avoid bringing the infant car seat inside) so you are able to wash your hands first, and then wipe/drape surfaces before setting your baby on the changing table. If your baby needs to be “seen” by a doctor, the doctor will step into the bathroom briefly to assess your baby.

These instructions are posted on the wall of the bathroom:

  • Please wash your hands BEFORE touching anything

Note: Scale by appointment only, scheduled > 1 hour between appointments, Bathroom cleaned by staff at beginning and end of day with bleach solution. Parents wipe all surfaces before departing.

  • You may use ONE disinfecting wipe located in drawer of changing table for all surfaces, switches, handles etc. (Please use only one wipe!)

  • Place Blue Pad on changing table, undress baby completely for naked weight. IF you have a “mini-doctor” appointment scheduled, the doctor will stop in for a brief exam.

  • Place White Paper on Scale. Turn on Scale. Make sure Scale Tray is not touching anything. After zeros appear, place the undressed baby on Scale.  When the baby has stopped moving, the numbers will stabilize, then record the weight. IF you have an older child/toddler who you think will be unsafe at the height of the scale on the changing table, you may move the scale to the floor to weigh your child. The scale has a 44 pound capacity.  If your child weighs more than 40 pounds, consider using the adult scale also located in the bathroom.

  • We recommend you bring your own diapers & wipes.

Community changing table supplies to be used at your own risk.

Once baby is in carrier, please use ONE disinfectant wipe on all surfaces including:

  • Hard surfaces of Changing table & drawer pulls

  • Scale tray and buttons

  • Sink and Faucets

  • Light Switch & Door handles

  • Last: toilet handle and seat

Report weight as you have been directed to, you may email your doctor or report to front desk staff by calling (360) 384-2900.
